Hopefully anyone out there trying to play this on their PC can use that workaround. Other than those two things, the game has run perfectly smooth for me. Changing an obscure setting called “disable native float16 support” to true, in the config file of the emulator, fixed the players having purple faces. Turning off autosaving in game fixed the crash. Crashing due to auto save, and players faces being blue. This runs great on RPCS3 so far, having only encountered two bugs. I have however went through the link in the mega thread, and gotten a PS3 zip file of the game, that I missed earlier. Thanks guys.Įdit: thanks to u/the_ex_con_chav_twat I’ve been informed that as far as the wiki says, the game isn’t available anywhere currently in the Xbox 360 format. I hate to ask, but over the past two hours I've had no luck. College Hoops 2k8 seems to be missing from everything, aside from ps2 copies. Here are five such players that come to mind.Does anyone know where this might be? I've searched all over, used different search engines, checked the megathread here, tried the wiki, torrent sites, and even been to some sketchy rom websites that don't have it. May have some minor scratches/scuffs.This description was last updated on October 28th, 2020. This game is fully cleaned, tested & working. Basketball players have generally fared better than NFL players who have graced the cover of Madden, but misfortune has befallen some players who have appeared on the covers of various hoops titles. Used College Hoops 2K8 Playstation 3 Game tested and guaranteed to work. I’ve been thinking about some of the best and worst cover players, and have some lists to post in the not too distant future, but I’ve also been thinking about superstitions and supposed “cursed” cover players. torrent file only shows download options for cod and meta files, direct downloads still work tho. As of writing however, no official announcement has been made.Īlthough the cover is ultimately inconsequential as far as the quality of a basketball video game is concerned, it remains a popular talking point, so I thought I’d write a Friday Five or two about previous cover players. Last week, a report from Polygon gave us something to think about, as leaked images have fuelled rumours that NBA 2K16 will feature three different cover players – James Harden, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant – as well as involvement from filmmaker Spike Lee, presumably in this year’s M圜AREER mode. Nevertheless, it’s unquestionably a significant title, and a great release that’s well worth remembering. I therefore don’t have any nostalgia for it, and while I am able to make comparisons to NBA 2K8, there isn’t quite the same novelty as there was when comparing NBA Live 08 and NCAA March Madness 08. We werent able to fully check that feature out because there was nothing to download or. The PS3 version does show off a lot more. As with College Hoops 2K7, I’m coming from the position of someone who wasn’t able to play it when it was new, and also didn’t spend a lot of time with its NBA counterpart at the time either. College Hoops 2K8 tries to get around this with the. Indeed, gamers have continued to make new rosters for College Hoops 2K8 for many years afterwards, some of which are still available.Īs I look back at College Hoops 2K8, it seems accurate to say that it’s many people’s favourite college basketball game. They have an enduring popularity, as gamers who enjoyed them when they were new are still able to dust them off and play them today, especially College Hoops 2K8 with all of its roster customisation. Both games marked the end of their respective series, and were very highly regarded. This week, I’m taking a look back at College Hoops 2K8 on PlayStation 3.Ĭollege Hoops 2K8 is a title that generally makes basketball gamers feel wistful, the same way football gamers look back at ESPN NFL 2K5.
